Privacy policy
This page says what information this site collects. We collect as little as we can.
What we collect today
- No accounts. You cannot sign in, and we do not ask for your name.
- Nothing from the builder. What you type into an invoice or estimate, and any logo you add, stays in your browser. See below.
- Visitor statistics, with Google Analytics. See below.
- Google AdSense. We are an AdSense publisher. Its code runs on our pages, so Google can show our consent message and, later, ads. See below.
- Your theme choice. If you switch between light and dark, your browser stores that choice on your device. It is never sent to us.
The invoice and estimate builder
The builder runs entirely in your browser. Your business details, your clients, your items, your logo and your totals are never sent to us or to anyone else.
So that you can pick up where you left off, your browser saves your latest draft and your business details on your device (in its local storage). They stay there until you choose Clear all in the builder or clear your browser’s site data. On a shared or public computer, choose Clear all when you finish.
Making a PDF uses your browser’s own print window. The file is saved on your device.
Visitor statistics
We use Google Analytics to learn which guides and templates people use and which need work. It tells us, for example, how many people opened a page, how long they stayed, whether they scrolled most of the way down, whether they used the builder, and whether they downloaded a PDF. It never receives what you typed. We see totals, not who you are.
Google Analytics runs on this site’s published pages. It uses cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, which let it tell a returning visitor from a new one.
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, a message from Google asks for your consent. Until you agree, Google Analytics sets no cookie and stores no identifier on your device. It may still receive a signal, without cookies, that a page was viewed.
- In Quebec, Google Analytics sets no cookie and stores no identifier, and may send the same cookieless signal. We do not ask for consent there yet.
- Everywhere else, it sets its cookies when the page loads.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense. We do not show ads yet, and we will never place ads inside the builder. When we do, Google may use cookies to show ads and to measure them, as its advertising policy explains. Where the consent message applies, Google uses your answer to decide what it may store and whether ads may be personalized. Everywhere else, until we show ads, we tell Google not to use advertising cookies.
Your choices
- Change your consent in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland with the Privacy choices link at the bottom of every page.
- Block cookies for
estimatebench.comin your browser, on any device. - Stop Google Analytics on every site with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
- Turn off personalized ads from Google in My Ad Center.

Changes to come
We plan to show ads and to add an email newsletter. We will update this page before we turn either of them on. Where the law requires your consent, we will ask for it first.
